Hey There!
So I am finally here and I am going to need to do a little recap for you guys...
Day 1: flying from PDX to Frankfurt was a fun 10 and half hours long, but I ended up sitting next to a woman from Egypt!
Day 2: flying from Frankfurt to Rome I got to see the Alps. It was the most amazing site I have ever seen! These peaks could be seen as far as the eye could see..wow!
Once I got to Rome I had to figure out how to get to Siena, and it was the hardest thing I have ever done! I had to figure out which
trains to use and not a lot of the people at the train station spoke English. I ended up getting on the right trains, but I am honestly surprised I didn't just break down. I think it was because I knew I couldn't, I had to help myself, and I did. I then took a taxi to Hotel Italia where I stayed my first night. (The pict. to the left is the view from my hotel the first night)
Day 3: I woke up to a huge breakfast at the hotel and made my way to the next hotel, the Canon de Oro where I will also meet the group at tomorrow. I decided that it was time to explore, so here are my photos from my journey today!
This is in the Palazzo Pubblico, and the tower is the Torre del Mangia which I climbed to the top of!
The church below is called the Duomo, I toured inside and lit a candle for my Grandma inside the area dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
Spedale di Santa Maria della Scala. This museum used to be a hospital until it was converted, and it was believed that the lower level gave a sanctuary for Saint Catherine. There is also a huge archaeological musem.
Siena is amazing! I could post pictures but being here is so different! Not even my guide books could have prepared me for these beautiful places and experiences I have had so far!
Ciao!
Charlotte

It all looks amazing and sounds like you are having a blast!
